SANTEE SANTAS FOUNDATION
2010 ANNUAL MEETING

Thank you on behalf of the Santee Santas Foundation and the 178 families who received assistance this past year. On Thursday, April 22, 2010 at 7 p.m., we will hold our annual meeting and board elections at Santee Fire Station #4, 8950 Cottonwood Ave. I would like to personally invite you to come by to meet the board members who dedicate their time throughout the year to make a difference in our community.

This year, there are two board positions available, and nominations will be taken from the floor that evening. We are always in need of volunteers who would like to be more involved throughout the year. We welcome new faces and fresh ideas.

Thank you again for your support, and I hope to see you on Thursday, April 22, at 7 p.m.

2009 ANNUAL REPORT

This was another successful year for Santee Santas. It was our 57th year of bringing holiday cheer to Santee families and seniors.

Santee Santas served 178 families and 381 children this year. New Frontier MHP, Hawaiian Village MHP, Tower Glass, Barnes & Noble Bookstore, and WalMart are just a few of the companies who donated anabundance of toys, books, food and cash, which keeps our organization thriving. The Santee Chamber of Commerce’s annual event, Taste of Santee at Union Bank, once again provided toy and monetary donations. The Santee School Administrators and Santee Firefighters associations also donated funds to assist our families in need.

We are very fortunate to have American Eagle Storage continue to donate storage space for our supplies. They also donated $1,000.00 for our program this past year. Cecils Vending donated the use of large trucks, which we used to transport food, toys and supplies to our locations in the month of December.

Every year, Santee Santas faces the challenge to find a building that is suitable for our program and allows volunteers easy access on delivery day. Santee Santas would like to thank Smart & Final and Pacific Realty Advisors for the use of their vacant buildings. We would like to thank the Santee Sheriff Department for traffic control on delivery day.

For more years than we can count, the Santee Fire Department has lent us their facilities for our monthly meetings. They have also let us use their locations for a couple of our application intake evenings these past two years.

Again this year, Valley Box Company donated all of the boxes and tape necessary to make the deliveries of the food and toys successful, and this year was no exception.  The Santee Kiwanis spent a day assembling these boxes for us and we are very thankful for their help.

Another ongoing supporter is Town & Country Printers. They provide printing of letters, envelopes, and all the other supplies necessary to keep us running smoothly.

We would also like to thank all the students and staff from the Santee School District. Without their amazing food drive through the month of November, we would not have a program to distribute. We send a huge thank you to the Santee School District maintenance staff, especially Peter McFadden and his crew, for picking up and delivering the food from the nine elementary and two high schools. Thank you to West Hills High School and Santana High School for their continued participation in our program. Thanks to Ed Ruiz for working with Waste Management to donate several dumpsters on delivery day.

Santee Santas would also like to thank Roundtable Pizza, Mimis Cafe, Oggi’s, Chili’s, Costco, Heather Jones, Starbucks Trolley Square Center, and Starbucks at Mast & Magnolia for providing refreshments for all of our volunteers. The food was delicious, and we appreciate your continued support.

Our Senior Program changed in the past year. We delivered 150 flower arrangements to seniors who live alone in mobile home parks in Santee. The flower arrangements were lovingly made and delivered by Special Design Floral Company. Stuffed animals were provided to 100 patients at Stanford Court Nursing Home. This year we donated all of the holiday decorations used at Edgemoor to the new facility.

Santee Santas would also like to thank Mike Huston of Huston Designs for continuing maintenance of our website, and thanks to Laura Levine who audited our financial records. Christopher J. Hayes, Attorney at Law, helped us this year by creating the waiver forms for our volunteers.

There are so many people and organizations that are responsible for making this program a success, and we wish we could mention them all. I hope you will join us again in 2010 and look forward to partnering with you for our 58th season.

Sincerely,
